'Desires Never Desire' is a unique and exciting online exhibition curated by the
artist herself, which will take you into a fantastical journey of her dreams and desires during the lock-down.
About
This exhibition presents a series of five paintings and drawings which were created during the lockdown, based on the theme of ‘Desire’. These works explore Artist Jemisha Maadhavji’s ‘Desires’ during the lock-down.
Each art work largely details on her fascination with vibrant luxury interior design from self portraits to portraits of her muse.
Jemisha Maadhavji is a Fine Art graduate from De Montfort University. Recent exhibitions include: Columbia Threadneedle Prize Award 2018 (Mall Galleries), FBA Futures 2019 (Mall Galleries), Open Call Winners exhibition 2019 (Delphian Gallery), Artist residency and Solo exhibition at Studio nAme, (2019) Leicester The Other Art Fair as London Futures, London (2019) and 'Perceptions', Contemporary British Portrait Painters (CBPP), Cass Art Islington. She is also represented by London Connoisseur founded by Helen Chislett.
Maadhavji has also collaborated with brands such as John Lewis, Ted x and Luxury Bridal Boutiqe for window display.
She has also been recipent The Christopherson Collection Award, at De Montfort University, Leicester, U.K.
Maadhavji has also appeared in publications such as Harpers Bazaar Art Arabia, Harpers Bazaar India and Artists and Illustrators.
