About
Have you ever wondered how we store flags that are bigger than five double decker buses side by side, or how we contain our food collection?
If so, join us on this unique Delve Deeper tour, where you will get to come face-to-face with thousands of objects, and meet the team that look after them.
During this tour of The Prince Philip Maritime Collections Centre, you will be led by our Collections Management team, who will reveal the considerations they took when designing this state-of-the-art storage facility.
They will also discuss and show why re-housing projects were needed for our food, textiles and globes collection.
This is a chance to look at the objects in the collection through the eyes of our experts, learning about collection care and the agents of deterioration.
The team will even debunk frequently asked questions, such as the lifelong argument: ‘to wear or not to wear gloves’!
