The legendary East London exhibition-cum-performance club night is back, with an episode entirely dedicated to the worldwide Spanish-speaking and Latinx contexts…. Bienvenidxs to… DEEP TRASH Escoria!

About

With never before seen performances in the UK, Deep Trash Escoria will take you through acts that consist of subversive flamenco, indigenous counteractions, radical analities, border-crossing resistance, Spanish anti-nationalisms and Latinx burlesque. Immerse yourself in a parallel exhibition of kuir, feminista y transmaricabollo cultures from across the globe: from ecosexual criticism to Frida Khalo’s re-stagings, from cyborgian pre-Hispanic sexual hybrids to contemporary drag, trans & non-binary lives – from Colombia to Uruguay and beyond!

Dressing up (or undressing) is highly encouraged.

Deep Trash is a bi-annual, one-night-only event featuring live performances, installations, artworks, visuals and videos spread over 2 floors by over 30 artists in East London’s Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club. #DeepTrash

The venue will be open from 8pm, with a 1-hour curated screening on loop, selected by visual culture and gender studies scholar Abeyamí Ortega. Plus, the event will also include an immersive exhibition, interactive installations and all-night performances showcasing emergent or recent discourses around sexuality, gender and race within Latin and Spanish-speaking territories or autonomous communities. #DTescoria

Alejandro’s DJ set from the club night “Lady Olé” will bring you the best – and the trashiest – of Spanish dance, kitsch, and queer música. Followed by Dj Neiva for a Maricumbia takeover: hot music for muchachxs of all genders & sexual orientation, from your suavest butch reggaetonero to your most dedicated salsera - bringing Latinx Hip Hop, Cumbia, Pop, and more.
