About
The Moncrieff-Bray Gallery is excited to present paintings and collages from David Humphreys with works displayed throughout our magnificent Sussex barn. Humphreys has lived in Sussex for over fifty years. We first exhibited his work over a decade ago and now at 80, he is still at the height of his powers and pushing his work in new directions. Humphreys' work is rooted in the landscape, celebrating the land as a life force and is influenced by the poetry of Edward Thomas. He is a lyrical painter in the British pastoral tradition.
Humphreys is a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy and is represented in many private, corporate and museum collections including The Art's Council of Great Britain and The National Library of Wales.
Just over an hour’s drive from central London, The Moncrieff-Bray Gallery is located in the heart of the South Downs National Park, enjoying spectacular views over the Rother Valley and up to the South Downs.
