‘Darkness to Light,’ did its principal photography in a quiet stable complex in Western Australia, The Team worked through fourteen glamorous and sexy models, a horse called Whoopi, 100litres of molasses - and a portable shower unit.

About

This evolving collection explores mental baggage and health, how that affects people and how we all carry it. The current zeitgeist and recognition of the cultural effects of depression, anxiety and experienced/ induced mental trauma is a consideration within the core of these works.

The abject collides with the haptic and has resulted in a set of images which luxuriously and simultaneously delve into the subject while presenting the surreal sight of bodies wholly or partially enveloped in molasses (the metaphor representing our subconscious preconceptions, mental positions and baggage). The simultaneously uncanny and surreal sight of a body or face encapsulated in this way will unsettle many while entrancing others. The use of fire on the images is intended to represent renaissance.

These images are not photoshopped and are single exposure images.
