Fascinated by transparency and softness of silk, Daria Tikhomirova decided to use in her work a very particular technique of painting on silk - "batik with 3D effect". This lets her achieve a very impressive effect, which is impossible to get while working with other materials. According to Daria, Batik offers everything she was looking for - transparency, depth, lightness, richness and finesse. The use of two layers of silk, more dense and more transparent, creates the desired depth and the effect of 3D.
Daria was born in 1990 in Blagoveshchensk (Russia).
She is a Member of the Artists' Union of Russia and the International Academy of Fine Arts "New Era".
The artist regularly participates in the national and international group exhibitions in Russia and abroad, including China, Turkey and France.
Daris's paintings are displayed at the permanent exhibition at the Museum of Russian Art in Harbin (China), the Russian Art Gallery "Yui Bao Gan" in Heihe (China) and may also be found in private collections in Russia, China, Turkey, France, Canada, Chile and the Netherlands.
