Works by Daniel Bragin, Chao Lu, and Lian Zhang. Geography and a shared ideological past connect the vast countries of China and Russia. Today, their artists live around the world with an inescapable burden of history.
About
In the 1960's Western intellectuals used to quote Mao Tze-Dong. They proclaimed themselves to be Maoists, or Trotskyists. Later, these associations were rejected.
Historically, there is a strong connection between China and Russia. A realism of the people, forgivings, misgivings, new beginnings, and returning to lost pasts.
