About

Infusing movement and performativity with raw, visceral energy and inventive movement vocabularies, BOOMERANG—described as the “punk Mozarts of dance”— presents a series of duet and solo works with live music performed by Greg Saunier, Adam Tendler, and folk-punk trio Poor Remy. These musicians reciprocally embody the physical intensity and vulnerability that has come to uniquely characterize BOOMERANG’s work.

BOOMERANG is a daringly physical, poetically-nuanced dance and performance project created in 2012 by co-directors Matty Davis and Kora Radella along with founding member Adrian Galvin.

Greg Saunier is best known as the drummer of acclaimed rock band Deerhoof. As a drummer and an active participant in the New York free music scene, he has worked alongside Laurie Anderson and David Byrne and produced/remixed several pop artists including Maroon 5 and Xiu Xiu.

Pianist Adam Tendler is recognized as a leading interpreter of modern American music. Tendler serves on the faculty of the Third Street Music School Settlement in New York City.

Poor Remy is a folk band based in Brooklyn, NY comprised of Andrew D'Amico, Adrian Galvin, and Kenny Polyak.
