Mathurin Bolze and Hedi Thabet, both circus artists, come together in this touching and humorous duet celebrating companionship.
Their playful interactions centre on the fact that between them they have only three legs, yet they make several creative and comical attempts to merge their two bodies into one.
Accompanied by a lone chair and two pairs of crutches, Bolze and Thabet's exchange dances between tenderness and brutality. Their dynamic and at times astounding acrobatics feature a memorable creation set amidst a succession of movement sequences. With grace, whimsy and tremendous energy, the meeting of these two artists is quite simply inspiring.
Ali is part of Dance Umbrella's Brief Encounters series, in which short works by talented new choreographers or established artists are performed prior to main shows.
