What you need: A curious and open mind. Participants will be invited to make meditative experiences to meet power animals, and invite them to dance with you before exploring our shared digital non-ordinary space. Take this workshop in a place where you can lie down under a blanket and move/dance freely - uninhibited. Bring a blindfold and headphones [if possible, wireless] to aid in free dance movement with immersive sound. Having materials ready to draw or record your experiences might also be important.

About

This workshop is part of Zero Corner’s online residency and publication project ‘The Body in Algorithms,’ curated by Ashley Middleton and Georgia Perkins. The residency includes artists, writers, and researchers that reflect on, sense within, and share how the body is affected in and through coded systems.

We invite you into a participatory ceremonial research enquiry, taking practical steps through core-shamanic journey, within altered states of consciousness, in a series of deepening experiences into and through our non-ordinary digital realm.

The aim of this work is to widen our understanding of digital realms as 'holding spaces'; as a quality all realities possess, and question upon how they are intermingled with our embodiment, and thus co-emergent of Spirit. This workshop embraces the experience of a core-shamanic journey as ‘research ceremony’: through sonic driving with repetitious drum pattern and closed eyes.

The workshop is organised around 4 complex structures:
1. Mirroring
2. Water - as a way of thinking/being, embodiment
3. Research as Ceremony
4. Dance - embodiment as reality creator

As co-creators of our algorithmic multi-realities, we seek to enable our natural somatic inner alchemy to be consciously involved in new digital intimacies.
Looking to the traditional Mongolian shamanic mirror and towards our own watery technologies we return to the sensation body.

In this workshop, we pose the questions: what algorithmic architectures are we building through our relational programming, intermingled with digital non-ordinary realms?
What are we reflecting in the dark places where we so easily can substitute algorithmic data-distillation for a distillation of knowing, feeling, or a distillation of spiritual essence?

“Dancing In The Digital Waterfall” is a practice of collective trance movements within the digital realm. It offers intentional action in order to co-create of your new embodied paradigm. Together we seek to grow new courageous actions of surrender, purification and intention within how we perceive and move through our digital realms.
