Daisy Chains and Summer Rain brings together the work of 14 exceptional artists with an abundance of exuberance and also with a tinge of innocence yet also with touch of melancholy.
Daisy chains often evoke memories of childhood and in many of the artists showing here they draw on their own kind of innocent nostalgia as subject.
In folklore daisy chains were thought to prevent evil spirits from harming children and Chaucer also wrote of the daisy as “the eye of the day”.
This exhibition in summer, shows a wide range of joyful approaches to painting and making art but also a darker, more brooding aspect of summers cheerfulness.
This ASC Gallery exhibition will span 2 of the new large spaces at ASCs new The Handbag Factory venue in Vauxhall, London.
