Idea Generation Gallery presents the first major exhibition by arts society photographer and pioneer, Dafydd Jones. Working in London and New York, Dafydd has observed the Art world change beyond recognition documenting key figures at the most unexpected and candid moments.
With subjects including Lucian Freud, Tracey Emin, Jay Jopling, Nicholas Serota and David Hockney, Scenes from the Art World will offer a documentation of the Art world's transformation over the past few decades. From the small and unknown gallery launches of the 1980s and Brick Lane's more alternative spaces; to celebrity filled Hollywood Oscar night parties and large scale decadent aristocratic parties in country houses.
First published in Tatler, Dafydd's work has graced the pages of such publications as Vanity Fair, The New York Observer, The Times and The Sunday Telegraph. Bridging the gap between attendee and paparazzi, he is an integral part of the social scene, having witnessed such landmark occasions as the first Frieze Art Fair, the opening of Tate Modern and numerous Turner Prize announcements.
