Join The Darkroom at Beach Creative for an off-site cyanotype workshop!
This workshop is perfect for children and young adults who have an interest in print making, photography and art in general! No experience necessary!
What is a Cyanotype?
A cyanotype is also known as a 'sunprint'. A cyanotype is a cameraless photographic process, using UV sensitive paper, the sunshine and objects! It's an instant process making it perfect for kids to gain an understanding of how important light is to photography.
Each participant will create at least 3 cyanotype prints, either on fabric or on paper.
Where IS the Beach Hut?
The hut is in Hampton, along from Herne Bay. It is beach hut 287 - the '2' is missing on our little hut but you will see appropriate signage on the back of the hut so you know you're in the correct place. Parking options can be found in the FAQ's section below.

What is provided?
Cyanotype paper, objects
What do the participants need to bring along?
Feel free to bring your own objects along! Please bear in mind that we will be on the beach for part of the workshop, so please refrain bringing objects that are hard to collect if spilt eg: sequins, glitter.
Ideas for objects are:
- Lego pieces
- Large buttons
- Items found on the beach
- Jigsaw pieces
The Darkroom at Beach Creative has a full DBS certificate & Public Liability insurance.
What are the parking options?
There is ample parking surrounding Hampton.
- The is a free carpark just 5 minutes away from the Beach Hut. CLICK HERE for a google map direction.
- Numerous streets surrounding the slope down to the beach hut with no restrictions. Please allow walking time of up to 5 minutes
