About
Innovative filmmaker turns hand to collage
North London-based artist and animator Liga Steda, described by the Barbican as one of the most talented emerging British filmmakers, is hosting her first solo exhibition, CUT & PASTE & REPEAT, at Ziferblat London on Old Street.
The centrepiece attraction will be a screening of her short film BLOCK, fresh from a successful year touring film festivals all over Europe, with its stark and atmospheric original soundtrack by pioneering sound designer Adam Bohman. The rest of the show focuses on the debut showing of her recent collage work. Composed over the past year, the collages are experiments in spontaneity and form, and explore the nature of one-way communication and messages in our culture.
Liga studied Animation at Middlesex University, and has had her films screened at festivals all over Europe. Her work can be viewed online at ligasteda.wordpress.com. Ziferblat London is located at 388 Old Street, Shoreditch, and online at london.ziferblat.net.
