Cut and Fold Workshop with Clare Pentlow ARBSA – Learning about the potential of paper through cutting and folding.

We’ll be looking at geometric folding creating architectural forms and structures, whilst also gaining an insight into how Clare creates her own unique more organic designs. A day of two halves learning about different techniques with paper and how you can create your own paper art.

Age group and abilities to be taught        

• 18 years and above
• Suitable for all abilities

• Geometric Folding
• Confidence with a scalpel
• Paper sculpture through cutting and folding paper.
• How to create your own designs

Course outline for Cut and Fold Workshop

Morning Activity

• Geometric Folding
• Learning some of the basic shapes and language in origami and how to interpret different designs
• Enjoy creating your own designs
• Origami Artists / Paper Engineers to further explore

Afternoon Activity

• Learn how Clare creates her unique paper art
• Simple cutting techniques, gaining confidence in using a scalpel
• Different ways to sculpt paper and combining cutting and folding

All materials and equipment provided and included in the fee

• You may bring in your own scalpel to use
