Curious Creature is an international artist group show of mid-career artists from New Jersey, New York,Cape Cod, Ma., California, Brazil and China, curated by Larry Dell-artist/sculptor.
About
Curious Creatures is an exhibition and installation presenting the work of contemporary artists inspired by the work of “primitive,” prehistoric, ancient masters. The specific focus is hybrid creatures, human/animal beings commonly used to represent gods and deities. Examples include: the Lionman (lionwoman) found at Stadel cave, Germany, dated 32,000 BC, winged deities, beasts, demigods, serpents, profane idols and gods found in the Bible, Greek and pre-hellenic myths, the Sphinx and other Egyptian gods, hybrid animal gods found in North and South America, and other similar creatures.
