About
The curator collective bm_kuratoren consists of Gabriele Baumgartner and Silvia Müllegger. The goal is to realize artistic projects together and independently, acting as an interface between artists and an art-savvy audience. The focus is on conveying a wide variety of artistic positions and their public presentation.
With the exhibition in the FIVE PLUS Art Gallery, the two curators want to focus on artists who regularly represent them and also introduce themselves as a curatorial collective.
Julia Dorninger
Born in Vienna in 1973, the artist works conceptually in various media, with a focus on graphics, collage and photography. In her work, she questions her own perception and media reception. She lives and works in Vienna.
Claudia Dorninger-Lehner
Claudia Dorninger-Lehner's works are anything but "simple" photographic depictions of a motif. Due to differentiated technical subtleties, she creates a new kind of reality in her works, which unites time and space in the image and reflects her very own painterly aesthetics. The artist lives and works in Perchtoldsdorf.
Christian Flora
Born in 1972 in Klagenfurt / Austria. Christian Flora studied from 1993 to 1999 at the University of Applied Arts - master class for painting and graphics with Prof. Wolfgang Hutter and later with Prof. Wolfgang Herzig. His turn is for figurative classical painting. In his current work series, Christian Flora deals with motifs from the history of art - specifically from portraiture - and with irritations and refractions.
AnaMaria Heigl
Born in Großarl / Salzburg. After visiting the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, she founded "anaplus" a project workshop focusing on sculpture, impressions, special costumes, dolls, masks and animal sculptures. Since 2006 she has dealt intensively with photography. Using the medium of reflection, through unusual points of view and selection of the most diverse projection surfaces, she creates surreal, abstract and at the same time fantastic worlds; lives and works in Vienna.
Stefan Nutzel
Born in Bayreuth in 1967. The artist graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg, master class Johannes Grützke. At the center of his work is man with his intimate and social interdependencies. With his series Intimate Distances, Stefan Nützel shows various situations of erotic meetings, which per se thematize desire and desire, but the visualization of power relations and tension - before, in the middle and after the act -, beyond the intimacy.
Hannes Rohringer
1956 born in Seewalchen am Attersee / Upper Austria. He studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and works in various artistic fields. Particular attention is paid to the exploration of techniques and genres, to the questioning of the origin and history of materiality. At first glance, his works seem ironic and playful, but at second glance the undertones reveal an unexpected serious and socially critical side; lives and works in sea washing.
