About

Join us for a lunchtime talk with Lebanese artist Akram Zataari and Achim Borchardt-Hume, Head of Exhibitions at Tate Modern. Akram Zataari is a filmmaker, photographer, archival artist and curator. One of the founders of the Arab Image Foundation, which aims to track down and preserve photos from North Africa, the Middle East, and Arabic communities around the world, Zaatari collects, examines, and recontextualizes a wide range of documents that testify to the cultural and political conditions of Lebanon's postwar society. Solo exhibitions in 2013 include On Photography People and Modern Times, Thomas Dane Gallery; ALL IS WELL, Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Kingston University, Ontario; Letter to a Refusing Pilot, Lebanon Pavilion, 55th International Venice Biennale, Venice; Akram Zaatari: Project 100, MOMA, New York.
