How can galleries, archives and museums be more open with their digital data? Why has the sector fallen behind in collaborative digital projects? This discussion considers these answers and more.

About

For the average person, the inter-connectivity of information has created seamless digital environments where communication, advertising, and casual data retrieval are instantaneous and often unnoticed. For the average researcher, particularly in the humanities, the pace of open and accessible digital data sets has not kept pace with global trends. The question of Open Access for galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM) is important as a growing number of curious individuals spend more time researching on Google and Wikipedia than anywhere else.

This panel of experts will help to understand the major institutional issues when it comes to Open Access in GLAM as well as the unique benefits for researchers and the general public that come from open and interconnected data.
