The weekend of September 7th and 8th is one of the most important weekends in the Arts and Culture calendar for the Colchester area. Colchester's longest running group of Artists' and Craft-makers' Studios open up and bares all to the public gaze. Up to thirty Artists and Craft-makers will be ‘on call' for this most significant of cultural events. Cuckoo Farm Studios, on Boxted Road, Colchester, have been successfully run by creative minds for over twenty years and is now part of our area's proud cultural heritage. For those among you that wonder what on earth an Artist, a Potter, a Glassmaker, a Film-maker or even a Bookbinder actually does during the day… well this is the perfect opportunity to find out. Each year Cuckoo Farm opens its gates and studio doors to all and everyone and each year hundreds visit to experience the informality and fascination of Cuckoo Farm Open Studios. Many visitors come along with the express intention to purchase an original art or craft object straight from the artists and for these collectors who do find an artwork they really connect with is the culmination of a great day out! Cuckoo Farm is set in a semi-rural location easily accessible by car, near to the football ground! There is free and ample parking for as long as you stay! All the family are welcome and there will be refreshments served each day throughout the day!
