About

UH Galleries is proud to present a new series of lectures, talks and film screenings called Critical Dialogue. Critical Dialogue is designed to explore how contemporary art interacts with the social, political and philosophical dimensions of the contemporary world and where it intersects with other disciplines and discourses. The series will feature invited artists, curators, critics and other thinkers of national and international standing and will incorporate a Q&A session. Series One starts on Tuesday 19 October until Tuesday 14 December from 5.30pm until 7.00pm. Highlights include: ‘The European - ness of Eurospy : Myth, motif and mayhem in European spy films of the Cold War' by Richard Rhys Davies, curator of Kiss Kiss Kill Kill — a UH Galleries exhibition. ‘The impossibility of neutrality, engaging art criticism, art history in the politics of visual culture and dynamics of globalisation' by art critic and writer Valerie Kabov. ‘Whose Public Art?' by Fabienne Nicholas is the Head of Consultancy for the Contemporary Art Society. This is a free lecture series. If you would like to book a place on Critical Dialogue, please telephone the box office on 01707 281127 or email uharts@herts.ac.uk.
