Creekside Artists will be opening their doors to the public throughout the weekend of 4th 6th December.
The Open Studio weekend is a chance to explore the working studios of artists and designers exhibiting work in a range of media. Many works are for sale including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, jewellery, T-shirts, shopping bags and greetings cards. The private view on Friday will also feature an exclusive interactive performance by âStep Off The Stage'.
Creekside Artists are based in a shared studio in Deptford, Southeast London. The area is very creative with several other artist communities based along the same road, including Cockpit Arts, Cor Blimey Arts, Frameworks Art Hub, APT gallery and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
The studios are a short walk from Deptford Bridge DLR, Deptford and New Cross stations less than ten minutes on the train from London Bridge or Waterloo East.
The group of artists and designers recently collaborated on a week-long drawing marathon at The Albany, which was selected for the Deptford X programme, featured in the South London Press and filmed for BBC world service as part of their international news coverage of the Big Draw. In addition to events and group shows outside the studios (the group exhibited at The Menier Gallery earlier this year and are booked for a show in February at the Limelight Gallery) Creekside Artists hold 3 open studio events throughout the year. The group is also hosting the next arty after-party for November's âDeptford Last Fridays', a monthly event coordinated by âDeptford Art Map', a local network of art galleries and artist studios.
