Inter-disciplinary artist Paula Varjack talks about running a company of one, all of the many roles a freelance artist takes on, and how this has led to her working increasingly more collaboratively.

Jack Wakely: Access and the Arts – Who do the arts belong to?

Jack is a performer and theatre-maker and an advocate for recognising gender diversity and invisible disabilities within the arts. As co-founder of Silent Faces, they create physical, political fooling, including the critically acclaimed Follow Suit and A Clown Show About Rain. This talk will explore accessibility in the arts as it stands, and making plans for the future.

Nick Cassenbaum: Sustainable Communities, Sustainable Career

Nick is a theatre maker and co-founder of Take Stock Exchange which has worked with various community groups over the last 7 years. Nick will discuss the practicalities and techniques to putting together this work.

Elliot Grove: Breaking into the Film Industry

Elliot Grove, creator of Raindance and the British Independent Film Awards, explains the ins and outs of the film industry. You will learn everything from creating the right résumé and breaking into the system, to self-promotion and surviving on your own.
