A one day course introducing the theory and technical skills needed to operate an Analogue SLR camera and then how to process film and use the darkroom.
About
Run by a practicing photographer, this short course teaches the student the skills and theory needed to operate a 35mm SLR camera and process and print negatives in the darkroom. During the day we take photographs in the local area, return to the studio to process the film, and then create a contact sheet with the processed film. We use black and White film and explore the special quility of the black and white image and the beuty of a fine quaility black and white image,
For those interested their is a second session in August where the participants take a closer look at photographic print. Learning how to make an enlargement and develope this image creatively to get the best print possible with printers darkroom techniques.
To do the course participants need to bring a 35mm Analogue SLR camera and a film ( 24 or 36 exposure 40o black and white film. The teaching takes place in the artist’s studio and places are limited to six. Darkroom chemicals and equipment provided. Minimal cost for photographic paper. All abilities welcome. Minimum age 14 yrs.
