Craig Wylie's still life paintings tread a delicate line between acknowledging the history of the genre whilst still being contemporary. Painting from life, unassuming, humble objects — fruit, plants, found objects — generally against a pared down, flat background, he creates paintings that have a rigour which underpins their simplicity.
