About

This exhibition is a celebration of Pop Art. The Pop Art movement developed and emerged during the 1950s. It focussed upon themes of popular culture, mass media, consumerism, means of production and bold colour statements. Warhol, Lichtenstein, Blake, Johns and a host of other fine artists created works, which have become iconic, from comic strips to Marilyn Munroe. Pop Art emphasized ‘kitsch' and played with the notion of irony. ‘Craft Goes Pop' revisits this movement and brings together a neon mix of artworks. The exhibition will feature a group of artists and different media. Featuring works by Lucy Foakes, Kate Gorman, Rachael Howard, Jeanne-Marie Kenny, Holly Levell, Sarah Packington, Anais Paulard, Taz Pollard and Natalka Melnyk. Call Bluecoat Display Centre on 0151 709 4014 for further information.
