What’s the Weather Like? is the degree show exhibition of the 2019 graduating class of the BA (Hons)
Photography programme at Coventry University.
Showcasing the work of 53 of emerging photographers, this exhibition is staged across two venues and in the public realm in the city of Coventry.
Collectively, What’s The Weather Like? encompasses a broad range of conceptual and methodological approaches, demonstrating a variety of creative interests and professional pathways. Participatory and socially-engaged practices, the photobook and post-digital publishing, documentary photography, photography and the archive are just a few of the fields of contemporary photographic practice represented in the exhibition. Within this, themes and stories such as dealing with the passing of a family member, gender identity and LGBT rights, our relationships with our ancestors and sexual harassment. Considering both how the participant and photographer wants it viewed, as either an insider or outsider to the situation. Others will explore urban landscapes and promote environmental change, focusing on how these places have effect on us personally and on a wider scale. Others inquire into what it means to be a fashion photographer and how fashion seems to become a recycled industry.
