Kosar Contemporary is pleased to host Cosmic Fishing, a group exhibition of contemporary paintings and sculptures by Helen Acklam, Betsy Bradley, Victoria Fox and Karolina Ptaszkowska.
About
“I call intuition cosmic fishing. You feel a nibble, then you've got to hook the fish”.
The title of the exhibition Cosmic Fishing takes inspiration from this quote by Buckminster Fuller (1895 - 1983), an American architect, systems theorist, author, designer, inventor and futurist.
Cosmic Fishing draws together a diverse range of paintings born from the common threads of intuition weaving through the participating artists’ practices. These works explore the liberation of the subconsciousness that is in flux with rationality, thoughts, ideas, sensations, feelings, fantasies, dreams; things not yet thought about or put into words. This creates an opportunity to break down the borders between the mind and the cosmos; the real and the unreal; internal and external worlds.
Acklam, Bradley, Fox and Ptaszkowska met through the Turps Banana Correspondence Course. Turps Banana is an independent art school and a magazine made predominantly by painters who occupy and carry an open position and attitude towards painting, in order to allow dialogues to develop.
