Mark Rowan-Hull is a visual artist who works live in performance with music. This work has evolved parly through his own joint practice as an artist and musician and through his own unique experience of seeing music and hearing colour as one.
Rowan-Hull's work seeks to extend the ideas associated and generated by action, improvisation and music through colour and gesture. 'My creative process is to fuse musical and visual concerns in order to tset the limits of artists practice via performance, exploring where thse two art forms join and divide.' Like site-specific sculpture, the work raises questions about the ontological status of the art work and the encapsulating of time.
For his performance Rowan-Hull will work live on stage with teh Amit Chaudhuri Band and music from their recently released 'This is Not Fusion' album, which similarly explores joins and divisions in music, a 'musical and conceptual meeting point'
