Single Sentence Publishing is an attempt to make a connection between a very specific community and a much wider cast of cultural producers. Providing a site of interruption within the regular flow of community life, the sign gives a space for artistic, political, and cultural modes of operating. The sign is programmed with text works from artists living nearby or far away. The artists’ work is displayed every day from sunrise to sunset. The is an attempt to broach certain dichotomies of local versus global, virtual versus physical, and the current role of publishing within the public sphere.
Please note: This series of text works by artists displayed on a LED sign in a second story window will be on view 8am-8pm September 10-20.
