Graham Boyd is primarily fascinated and excited by light and the expressive properties of paint… In my early years I experienced the vastness and drama of the Central African landscape and later that of North America. This led me into abstraction with added influences coming from music and poetry. As in Jazz I have learnt to work fast and instinctively, improvising and taking risks. Painting to me is about paradox and enigma, It is very hard to decode what goes on between the hand, eye and brain in the creative process. One has to locate oneself just beyond logic and to remain true to your innerself".
