This exhibition is to feature six artist’s responses to questions of identity and individuality; what these terms mean to us both as individuals and within the context of subjects such as culture, psychology and politics. The mediums used in this exhibition will include oil on canvas and paper, sculpture and film.
About
Each work will draw from the artists’ own life experiences to create a wide ranging display of responses to these questions; as the diverse backgrounds and life stories of each artist is what will make this exhibition unique. With subjects including addiction, dealing with loss, and finding cultural identity, the experiences and ideas expressed through the artwork will be contrasting; yet it is where the pieces unexpectedly parallel that they become just as intriguing. In this sense, the exhibition is a celebration of both individuality and of shared humanity, yet also an acknowledgement of shared struggle.
Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity was chosen because of the participating artists shared love for the author’s books and the great work the charity does helping children in desperate need.
The charity will receive 25% of any amount the work sells for, including prints.
