The Royal Society of Sculptors presents Jeremy Hutchison’s new installation: Content Provider
About
Jeremy Hutchison’s new installation, in collaboration with Oisin Byrne, Adam Dewhirst, Pierre Tardif, Donal Sweeney and Sam Britton, features a mass of miniature gargoyles. Presented in two forms; as sculptures and in a three-channel video, these gargoyles are self-portraits. Like white tack, the freelancer is cheap, elastic and malleable. He gratefully bends around precarious terms of employment - manipulating his schedule, ethics and creativity to suit his clients. But in doing so, he joins a workforce of alienated zombies, of grimacing immaterial labourers, grateful for any casual employment contract.
This exhibition runs alongside the First Plinth: Public Art Award sculpture terrace installation by Fabio Lattanzi Antinori.
