The Contemporary Textiles Fair is an established must-visit event in the textile lovers’ calendar, offering a perfect opportunity to see a diverse range of designer makers showing a stunning array of distinctive & colourful textiles.

About

The Contemporary Textiles Fair at the Landmark Arts Centre, the Teddington-based arts charity, brings together more than 65 individual artists and makers offering a stunning range of contemporary textiles.

The Contemporary Textiles Fair is an established must-visit event in the textile lovers’ calendar, offering a perfect opportunity to see a diverse range of designer makers showing a stunning array of distinctive & colourful textiles. Richly embellished embroidery, hand-dipped shibori, ecoprints & naturally dyed artworks, contemporary knitted homeware, sumptuous silks & handwoven scarves, wonderful handbags and fascinating 3D wall hangings – the range of work on show is beautiful and diverse. Wearable and hangable art from the quirky to couture.

This is a unique chance to see and buy directly from some of the finest textile artists from all over the UK in the superb gothic surroundings of the Landmark.

This year we will be welcoming Anthea Godfrey, Artistic Director of the Embroiderers Guild and Principal Lecturer at the London College Of Fashion U.A.L. Anthea will be giving a captivating talk on Sunday 19th March, all about the Hardhome Embroidery, a large-scale Game of Thrones inspired artwork which is currently touring the UK following its unveiling at the 2016 NBO Game of Thrones season premiere. Anthea was the project manager for this exciting project.

On Saturday 18th March we are again delighted to be working with the Royal School of Needlework to offer two short taster workshops in Silk Shading and Stumpwork. The workshop price includes entry to the Contemporary Textiles Fair and provides a great opportunity to learn a new craft and explore the fantastic array of exhibitors on show.

For further details, visit www.landmarkartscentre.org or email abigail@landmarkartscentre.org to book your workshops space and a seat at the talk. Places are limited for both so book soon!
