Contemporary Painting provides an introduction to local and international artists who present dynamic, engaging and detailed pieces as supporting evidence of the evolution of painting as an artistic practice and its new language. The exhibition focuses on contemporary art and the viewer’s relation to it through this vital activity.

Haus des Rodriguez presents the series “Lightness of Being”. Each painting was started and finished by both of artists as if one person, one body and soul did it. This series is about what happens when you look behind the curtains of illusions that surround humanity with a very thick layer of misbelieves. A lot of things and miracles start happening: unknown colours, new creatures, feelings that we have never felt before and concepts that blow our mind away; true connection between everything that creates true power. Focusing on people and recording stories of his sitters, David Gamble presents artworks that go beyond true likeness. Gamble adds a unique vitality and feel to all his portraits by penetrating the sitter’s character and capturing their personality to the point that the portrait tells their story. We are invited to discover these stories, become part of them and even act as a witness.
