Opening on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the Museo del Presente is the exhibition "Contemporary Latitudes, Twentieth Century and New Languages" curated by Roberto Sottile and Pengpeng Wang.

A journey among in the creativity and contemporary languages of Bao Fusheng, Chen Hai, Duan Dayong, Gao Ge, Guan Yinlin, He Xiaotong, Huang Shizun, Konggu Shanjian, Lee Kuandong, Li Mingqian, Liu Zhao, SAJI, Tang Ming, Wu Jiaxin, Yang Li, Zhao Jianwei, and The Prominent Youth Group of Yangjiang: Lin Fangsuo, Liang Mingqing, Lin Guance, Liang Peng, Zeng Qianping, Guan Xiangpao, Mo Gaofeng, Ao Shuiyong in a very impressive exhibition itinerary, that of the Museum of the Present, which already hosts two important permanent sections those dedicated to the Italian twentieth century with works by Giacomo Balla, Carlo Carrà, Giorgio De Chirico, Emilio Greco, Renato Guttuso, Carlo Levi, Mario Sironi, and Lorenzo Viani, and the section celebrating Calabrian Futurism, Bilotti collection with works byUmberto Boccioni, Enzo Benedetto, Michele Berardelli, Antonio Marasco, Leonida Repaci, Angelo Savelli, Geppo Tedeschi, Armiro Yaria, Silvio Lo Celso, Stefania Lotti, and Lina Passalacqua.

"Contemporary Latitudes," says curator Art Critic Roberto Sottile, "is a topical reflection on the capacity of artistic languages that as languages become universal thanks to art's ability to immediately succeed in communicating. The selected works have this characterization," Sottile continued, "on the one hand they preserve the identity of their memory and history, and on the other, this memory as contemporary becomes current, so current and strong that it becomes everyone's.

An exhibition that becomes a journey between cultures that through art come together. The exhibition, in fact,-as stated by the other Curator of the Exhibition Pengpeng Wang-proposes an articulated and valuable journey capable of bringing together works by some of the great Italian masters of the 20th century in relation to the contemporary creations of 24 artists from China made with different techniques: drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, and digital art. Art proposes through its gaze, Contemporary Latitudes able to question without forgetting the memory of the 20th century."

In addition to the curators, the mayor of the city of Rende Marcello Manna and Councillor for Culture Marta Petrusewicz will speak at the opening night.  The exhibition will be open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4 p.m.-8 p.m. with free admission.
