Considered the region’s leading art fair, Contemporary Istanbul (CI) brings both local and international focus to the dynamic art scene in Turkey's vibrant metropolis every year.

Continuing on its past critical acclaim, the fair showcases art from the region alongside works from around the world, lending the fair its distinct character as a place to discover and rediscover artists.
As of 2017, the dates of Contemporary Istanbul will change to the second week of September to coincide with various arts events in the city, including the opening of the 15th Istanbul Biennial curated by Elmgreen & Dragset, and events and exhibitions at cultural institutions throughout the city. Amongst these will be an Ai Weiwei exhibition at the Sakıp Sabancı Museum and a Diana Thater exhibition at Borusan Contemporary.
The 12th edition of the fair will directed by London-based collector and curator Kamiar Maleki and will showcase a number of new participating galleries including Victoria Miro (London), Flowers Gallery (London), Gallery 1957 (Accra) and Leila Heller Gallery (New York/Dubai). Both the interior and exterior of the fair have been restructured for this year’s edition by renowned architects Tabanlıoğlu Architects.
