About

The Art Exhibition ‘Contemporary Colour’ will run over the weekend of the 14th to 15 October 2018 at the Benham Gallery which is part of the Cuckoo Farm Studios(CFS) complex on Boxted Rd. Colchester. Just off the A12 near the A134 to Sudbury.
With works in acrylic and oil for every taste and budget, the exhibition will provide a great day out that weekend, in this pleasant farm surrounding. There will also be refreshments available and live background music by guitarist John McMillan as part of the day’s programme. Entrance to the exhibition is Free with also plenty of free parking. Cuckoo Farm Studio CO4 5 HH is walking distance from Colchester Park and Ride and easy reach of the stadium.

Lupe Cunha MA an artist tenant at CFS (or The Farm as it is better known,) has been running her colour inspired workshops since 2014 when she joined the studios. In this first exhibition ‘Contemporary Colour’, she will be exhibiting her personal Brazil inspired large canvas paintings as part of this group exhibition which includes over 40 paintings. Works included are also by Wendy Allen(Sudbury), Jon Young(Herfordshire), Lindsay Wright (Sawbridgeworth), Chrissie Richards (Sawbridgeworth), Zelda Tolley(Colchester), Leslie Carter(Colchester) and Charlotte Durance ( Nayland), all part of  this group. They comprise a collection of artists Lupe Cunha has been nurturing during her monthly workshops exploring the art of other contemporary artists exhibiting both in London and locally in the region. The works exhibited make reference to artists such as Peter Lanyon, Sonia Delauney, Robert Rauchemberg, Paul Nash, the Abstract Expressionists, Joan Earley, Georgia O’Keefe, Henri Matisse, David Hockney, Mary Fedden, among others.
