About

Warrington's first ever contemporary arts festival this autumn will celebrate emerging and acclaimed artists and performers from September 24 to October 29, 2011.
The festival is free of charge and will take to the town's streets, parks and cultural quarter, showcasing the wealth of artistic talent in the North West including exhibitions, performance, film and live art.
Organised in partnership with Warrington Borough Council, Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, Pyramid and Parr Hall and The Gallery at Bank Quay House, the festival will include a variety of exciting outdoor performances in unexpected places across the town.
Councillor Kate Hannon (Lab, Orford), executive board member for leisure, community and culture at Warrington Borough Council, said:
'There is growing support and interest in contemporary arts in and around Warrington from the performing and visual arts sector. We are proud of the wealth of talent here and hope the festival will bring fans of the arts from across the North West to our town and create new art lovers. This exciting event really has something for everyone and we hope it will go from strength to strength in years to come.''
Acclaimed Liverpool based music group 'Urban Strawberry Lunch' are set to launch the festival with a musical performance involving instruments made from junk.
