About

Wolverhampton Art Gallery's contemporary collection will be on display this summer with new works acquired through the Art Fund Renew Scheme. In this collections display we will be including some of the new work acquired though this scheme, including artists such as Taysir Batniji and Akram Zaatari alongside existing works in our collection by Simon Norfolk and Paul Seawright. The focus will be on urban landscapes, architecture and territory, from the invasive systems of control reflected in Batniji's Watchtower series, to the majestic ruins of Norfolk's Government Building. This is a joint collecting initiative with the Imperial War Museum, focusing on work that reflects the conflict in Israel and Palestine.
