About

Contemporaneous presents the innovative, experimental approaches to ink painting by Mainland Chinese artists Chen Shaoxiong and Qiu Anxiong. Chinese ink painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. Chen and Qiu link the main technique, controlling the running nature of the ink, with the narrative flow in animation to create contemporary works which meditate on their individual expereriences living in China today. Featuring four screen lcd screen installation and large scale high definition projection, Contemporaneous shows an ancient art form reborn in truly contemporary works.
