Contaminazioni - Lin Fangsuo

A60 Contemporary Art Space Florence presents on the occasion of this solo exhibition, some works by Chinese artist Lin Fangsuo made in 2023. Over time we have always been interested in proposing the work of this rigorous artist (he has always worked using technological tools), showing his works within collective exhibition events. The exhibition presented in Florence entitled Contaminations is a small but significant journey through his refined poetics: the artist does not forget his cultural references, the ancient symbols that have built the history of his country but transforms all this into a voice that tells the limits of contemporaneity. 

His, is also a harried, existential search as on the other hand his words tell us: "...I have different kinds of doubts. I cannot feel free until I find myself. It is important to live a life, between heaven and matter...." 

The technological "gesture" present in his work is skillful: Lin Fangsuo acts by layering, creating textures, labyrinths of the digital sign, almost a map overlaid with images from ancient history. The heart of these works is in front of us, revealed to the attentive eye, in the contamination of signs, paths, registers that interact on the field of the work. Everything appears perhaps "compromised," illegible, contaminated but the form exists and it is up to us to recognize in its trace, permanence
