An evening of experimental music featuring artists Hannah Dargavel-Leafe and Jonathan Higgins. Performances take place within the gallery space, set against selected projected video works by George Barber. Preceded by a playlist selected by Kate Carr, of pieces made using glitch.
For Constructions #2, artists Hannah Dargavel-Leafe and Jonathan Higgins have been invited to perform within the gallery space, set against selected projected video works by George Barber. The performances are preceded by a playlist, selected by Kate Carr, of pieces made using glitch.
Jonathan Higgins is a sound artist and performer based in London whose work focuses on the use of noise in producing music. His latest project Glitch Turntablism , responds to the digitalisation of music and its lack physicality by modifying CD players to uncover the noise hidden within digital audio and manipulating live audio. Previous performances include Liquid Sky- Berlin, IKLETIK - London and Hatch - Sheffield.
Hannah Dargavel-Leafe is an artist based in London, who works across installation, sound, object making and performance. She is currently an Honorary Research Associate in Sound at the Slade School of Fine Art and has exhibited and performed widely including at Whitechapel Gallery, IKLETIK (London) and HOME (Manchester).
This evening of experimental musical performance is free to attend.
