On 17th November, the anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, an event will symbolically begin at 17:11 for those who remember November 1989 and want to celebrate the 35th anniversary with music, art, and meetings with friends.

About

This concert has been a tradition since 2006, and this year it will take place at PINK WHALE club in Bratislava, featuring two stages. From the Czech Republic, we will welcome iconic hip-hop figure Vladimir 518, electronic showman Ventolin, the legendary 80s alternative band Jěště jsme se nedohodli, and Prague's synth-pop band Dukla. Representing Slovakia, the punk band The Wilderness, musician Katarzia will perform, with Katarzia presenting her new album Rest in Eufória and young singer-songwriter Nina Kohout.

The concert will be further enhanced by Katarína Zagorski's performance, (SKY) Walking in the Clouds, alongside a dance piece, Dark Grotesque (Tear Off His Head), presented by students from the Private Primary Art School Talentina. Discussions will be held with sociologist Fedor Gál, musicians Peter Kohout and Nina Kohout, journalist Marek Hudec, and Jana Močková, Ilona Németh and Veronika Němcová from the Otvorená Kultúra! platform.

"The Velvet Revolution brought freedom to the arts as well, and there is much to celebrate. However, we believe the fight for freedom continues, and many things remain unfinished. That’s why we continue to organise the Concert for those who noticed,” says Michal Kaščák from Pohoda Festival, the organizer.
