'COMPATHY' – A shared feeling with another or others.

British born artist, Richard Michael Roberts explores the importance of relationships today. In a paradoxical generation where we are connected more than ever, while loneliness has become an epidemical state in society – the human relationship seems as essential as it’s ever been.

In Roberts’ intimate paintings, told from an autobiographical point of view, he depicts moments of sentimental reflection, and scenes of interactivity.

Abstraction fights and intertwines with figuration, while he puts embedded thought into the use of paint and found materials. Painting with Acrylics and Enamel, he focuses on the surface of the canvas by mixing these with found materials such as toilet paper, faux leather, fabric etc.
