About

During the course of the exhibition we invited local families and members of the Baca Charity and the Exaireo Trust to respond to the clay and ceramics on display; our groups took things back to basics making tradition handmade coil pots. Coiling is a technique which has been used to shape clay into vessels for thousands of years. It was new experience for some, and a nostalgic one for others.

The Community Takeover is a pop-up exhibition of the work created during these workshops, celebrating the diversity and creativity of our town.

This is also your last chance to see ‘The Ground Is Good', an exhibition by Olivia Bax, Eva Masterman and Leon Sadler hosted by Modern Painters, New Decorators at Carillon Court, Loughborough.

The event is free to enter, and open to all. Children are welcome to join in with our free family activity guide, aimed at 5yrs+, materials included. Free drinks and refreshments will be available.
