A system (from the Greek word systema) is a collection of interconnected elements that function together. Grasping a system as a whole is a utopian task, one that, nonetheless, has been, is, and will be undertaken by those engaged in philosophy, art, religion, and technology. Encompassing the entire picture of the world within a single system, especially with the ever-growing technological progress, seems to border on madness. Yet, living in constant uncertainty, we search for a "system" or sometimes allow ourselves to be imposed by "system" in order to find, even for a moment, a space that is safe, familiar, and predictable.
When examining the system as a flow of information, the transmission of a signal, sound wave, or emotion in the communication process, we always reach a point where unforeseen failures, errors, or reactions occur, causing glitches, moments of suspension, or tensions.
In discovering an existing system, creating a new one, or trying to follow a system, we always encounter its opposite. In moments of system failure, error, or surprise, we meet ourselves and others as we truly are.

Intermedia Communication Studio
Faculty of Media Art, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
The Studio functions within methods, domains and intermedia events. It is a place of exploring, experimenting and researching topics within the scope of communication, intermedia, and the
relations of all the aforementioned. The point of reference is the reality (contemporary reality), its interpretation and basic relations between humans. It is a place to reflect upon the word, image,
sound, space, and being.
During Bachelor’s degree studies the context is 3m: MEDIUM, MESSAGE, MEDIATION.
During Master’s degree studies the context changes to 3t: TRANSGRESSION, TRANSFORMATION, TRANSMEDIA.
