Common Ground presents new works by six artists firmly rooted in the visual art and action tradition. Coming out of Cardiff's energetic performance art scene - as sometime collaborators, cohabitants, and as individual artists showing alongside each other at home and away - the overlaps between their practices are notable. Although by no means a collective, the artists of Common Ground form a quiet and consistent grouping. This two day event at Plan 9 attempts to create within the gallery a performance locale that is neither neutral(ised) nor already completely determined, a ground on which the six performances will be presented in parallel, rather than series, and offered for encounter by the audience. Viewers are welcome to come and go for as much, or as many, of the performances as they wish. The performances will include live drawing, dancing girls, sleight of hand and dark techno.
