Values and Values: Combining the commission, exhibition, and collecting processes offers artists and institutions the opportunity to work together and learn from each other. There is mutual value in this collaborative process - artists and organisations moral and ethical values find articulation as they are explored, expanded, and tested, potentially within the context of the institution’s collections, histories, and audiences.

Trust is built through this shared activity, from initial idea to production, display, and on to the point of acquisition, shifting emphasis from financial value to a mix of value systems. This workshop will consider the approaches and experiences of artists and curators working in this way with particular reference to fig-futures.
