Paintings inspired by coastal Cornwall and 'Painting the Novel', by prizewinning artist and renowned colourist , Ashley Hanson, a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists.
About
Ashley Hanson’s painterly responses to the coast and the novel, structured on place and colour, showcase the frisson and ambiguities between information and imagination, fact and fiction, abstraction and figuration. Included in the exhibition will be paintings from his Porthleven, Penzance and award-winning ‘City of Glass’ series, sourced in Paul Auster’s novel ‘The New York Trilogy’. During the week, Ashley will also be working on a new ‘Porthleven’ painting, number 52 in the series.
